Impress the anime princess with your bulging bankroll in this slot that draws on Bejeweled-type games for its twist
Starlight Princess (Pragmatic Play, 2021)
Review by: C. M0use
Starlight Princess is one of a number of slots from Pragmatic that fuses in a Bejeweled matching game element. You’re on a larger-than-usual 6×5 playfield, and when you match tiles they drop off and some new ones fall on that can potentially create more matches.
This expanded amount of tile possibilities comes at the price of no wild symbols whatsoever. There are, however, multipliers that can drop in randomly and boost a win anywhere from 2x to 500x. The only other “cost” to the expanded playfield is that there really isn’t a bonus feature other than four scatter symbols (in any position) landing you a set of 15 free spins. There is a side bet that allows you to up the odds of scatter symbols appearing by increasing your bet amount by 25%.
It’s also listed as “very high volatility” in most casinos and for good reason – you get lots of hits, but they’re almost always fractional and your bankroll ends up ebbing out pretty consistently until you hit a free spin series to catch up. It still might be a decent grinder despite that, at least if you’re on board with the super magical anime girl theme. RTP is 96.5% but relies very much on hanging around for free spins.
