Original Release: Pragmatic Play, 2021
The imagery evokes vintage reel slots, but Super X has a much more modern video slot bonus system
Super X (Pragmatic, 2021)
The second entry in Pragmatic’s “Super” series, which at least initially looked like it was trying to appeal to more “old school” slot fans who want the three-reel, more frequent win experience with fruit symbols and etc. … this one keeps some of those trappings but leans hard in a more modern direction, however, with a complex bonus system and high volatility despite frequent wins.
The main thing about it is that you go into the “X” bonus feature, which changes the reel symbols to all 0-9s and does like a decimal system bonus amount from left to right depending on what lands where, fairly often. But you also rarely get more than a trivial win out of it.
This new bonus system can produce max wins of 9,000x your bet, up from the mere 1,000x max win in the prequel. Substantial line wins are fewer and farther between otherwise, though, so if you’re looking for a Pragmatic grinder for some reason you’ll probably want to keep poking for an original Super 7 instead of this. To me the bonus feature here also just felt like too much time and animation for what ultimately amounted to such small win amounts.
