Despite it being one of the biggest games on the planet by active user base, I just didn’t get the appeal of Bingo Blitz. Monopoly Bingo is a pretty straightforward and unrepentant clone that just came out in early 2025, and though it’s very similar I actually found it at least a little more entertaining.
Part of it is maybe just the theming, you know, Monopoly adds a little of its own appeal to everything. I think the bigger part of it is that I played both for GPT offers, and this one required you to actually try to win matches while Bingo Blitz was basically just asking that you show up and sit through games.
When you try to win, it’s actually fairly engaging. Matches are timed just about right at no more than two minutes each, the random appearances of your power-ups add a little strategy, as does bankroll management and playing in the assorted tournaments of the moment to keep from going belly-up.
The thing is, though, if you’re not doing a GPT offer there isn’t much point to playing. It’s all “play money” other than trying to beat your goal times for a GPT payout, there aren’t like any states or jurisdictions where you can play this for real money. And the game is really kinda stingy with the in-game cash you need to get into matches. Even if you’re willing to pay money, it’s asking insane amounts for just enough to play like a small handful of matches. There’s a bunch of free stuff you can collect each day, but basically everything you can possibly scrape together in a day would cost you like $10 to $20 USD for a few days worth.
But I guess if you really want to play some free competitive bingo, it’s one you can add to the rotation, albeit with the expectation you might only be able to play a match or two per day some days.
