The look of Mario Kart Super Circuit is like a scaled-down emulation of the Nintendo 64 version, using the same sort of plasticy rendered style found in games such as Donkey Kong Country. Frankly, I think the game just looks ugly – the characters are blurry, and the backgrounds look washed out and lack life. However, the gameplay steers more towards the SNES version, and is pretty solid. It’s a decent racer, but I found it very uninspiring and lacking in things for a solo player to do. The music is also pretty atrocious. It’s got up to four player racing through link cables or the Gamecube adapter, and there are a few basic tracks that can be played on multiple GBAs using only one cartridge.
